Accessibility statement
How Service Shield builds this website to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard, how we test it, known limitations and how to report a problem.
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control.
The standard we build to
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How we check it
- Every page is tested automatically for WCAG 2.2 AA issues before it can be published.
- Pages are checked at narrow phone widths so content reflows without sideways scrolling.
- Navigation, menus and forms work with a keyboard, and they work without JavaScript.
- Text and buttons are checked for color contrast, and the site respects your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Photos have text descriptions; diagrams have written explanations; pages have one main heading and a logical heading structure.
Automated testing doesn't catch everything, so we also review pages manually with a keyboard and screen readers before major releases.
Known limitations
- Embedded YouTube player. The video player is provided by YouTube, and some of its internal controls don't fully meet the standard. Each video also has its own page on this site, where a written transcript or description is provided as it becomes available.
- Video transcripts. Some short videos don't have a written transcript or description yet. They're being added.
Report a problem
If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us through the contact page, including the page and what happened. We'll work to fix it and to get you the information you need another way in the meantime.
